Dear Capt Jake,
Thanks so much for the great fishing trip on May 14, 2015.Your knowledge of the best bass lake in the country is extensive.I truly enjoy fishing with you every time I come.We caught ,six or more over six and had a blast.I can't wait to come back.Keep up the good work and I will continue to tell my friends about the best bass guide on Lake Guntersville! My son will see you next weekend and he can't wait.
Forgot to add we got third in our 100 boat plus tournament, We had almost twenty three pounds! Just for your knowledge only we lost one over eight and we had one fish of three pounds.Do the math and you know we had a great day! We should have had around twenty eight! You are the man!
Can't wait till next time,

Email received from Mr. Bill Fortscher after our Apr 3rd 2014 trip
After much consideration I have moved my two days of fishing with you up to the top for over 75 years of fishing. That includes some awesome days in the 1940s fishing off Montauk Point, at the end of Long Island, NY., other times in the 1940s fishing for bass in Northern Indiana, two years in Alaska in the 1950s, and times in Northern NY. and Maine.. I have also fished in Yellowstone and central Oregon, but nothing beat Lake Guntersville in 2014. Hope you can send those pictures off to us real soon. I want to make up a poster to post on the wall at our local fishing and boating hangout. As I mentioned before you may have to line up another half dozen or more guides to handle the influx of fisherman from south central Pennsylvania. I hope you won't mind my posting your name and phone number as well as email address.
Thanks once more for a great fishing trip, I especially appreciate all the extra efforts you made in dealing with my dizziness and also in trying to have me connect with a fish on a buzz bait.

Spent a day on Guntersville with Jake, and we had a blast. Put over 30 fish in the boat with the best being 27-30 lbs, with blue bird skys and high pressure.... very tough conditions. I will be spending many more days on Guntersville with Jake. If you are looking for a top notch guide, and one with a lot of knowledge about Guntersville or Tim's Ford. Give him a call. He will put you on fish guaranteed!!!!

Teri Stallsmith Best fishing day ever! Great guide, too! Many thanks to Jake! And, I was fishing from the back end of the boat. I told my husband that really "cool" things never happen for me. Yesterday was the exception. Had an awesome time and will use Jake for a guide again. Will also refer others to his service.

Hello Jake...I just want to thank you for a really great fishing trip. It was great in all aspects, the boat, the fishing reels and rods, your friendliness, your knowledge of (Lake Guntersville, where the fish were, the bait to use and
how to fish it). Your my third fishing guide to use in my 50 years of bass fishing and your my first positive experience in using a fishing guide. Thank you for your time and may God Bless You.

Izaak Rathke, email on November 3, 2012Hi Jake,
Just wanted to drop you a line, I had a great time fishing with you. I learned alot from you, you are an excellent guide and a great teacher. We had about the toughest conditions you could have 40 plus mph winds and Jake still put us on fish. All his equipment is TOP notch I love the Lew's reels and Duckett rods, and tight line jigs. I ordered two reels, two rods, and a bunch of jigs. Again thank you for a great time I highly recommend Jake Davis. Now he just needs to get a BASS CAT :)

My son Kelton and i have used Jake on 3 different lakes this summer. His ability as a guide is impressive, however, as a father , my respect for Jake has nothing to do with fishing!
Mr. Davis has the unique ability to educate and communicate with young men in a fun, instructional and genuine manner. The conversations were always positive, healthy, and multiple questions were answered with respect for his client and student.
Jake Davis has earned this fathers respect and trust!!

Jake is a great guide and an even better person. He will go "the extra mile" to give you the best trip of your life. He has a warm personality and the heart of a teacher. I would recommend Jake as a guide, and as a pro staff team member!

A good guide isn't just someone that puts you on fish. Is someone that tells you why they are there, and what you need to be looking for. Basically, a teacher of sorts. Jake its your teacher!

Known Jake for several years. Great person and fellow guide. He would be a great addition to any company staff.

Jake has shown a lot of people to fish. He always knows what to use to get the bite. He even had this ability over thirty years ago when I first met him. I am Glad that I did get that chance. Expect a good time with him as your guide.
Peter Diaco, Mar 27 2011,
Just wanted to give a little shout out to Captain Jake Davis from Mid South Bass Guide. I had the pleasure of fishing this weekend on Nickajack with these guys. The weather was horrible but we did catch some good ones. Their equipment is top notch, they know the water and are pretty dang good fisherman too. Above all they will bend over backwards to make sure you have a good time and enjoy your day on the water. Thanks guys!
I would highly recommend this outfit if you are planning a trip to Tennessee.
In the last six months, I have used Jakes' services multiple times and, as an avid fisherman, know when fishing is easy or tough. Every time we have gone out, it has been tough. However, Jake has been determined to locate the fish for me and he has always come through. I have nothing but high praise for him and the effort he puts into finding fish. As a retired veteran, with a strong military background, Jake uses that discipline to seek out and find fish. He goes out of his way to ensure that I have had as successful a trip as possible. I have gone out with other guides before and they have never put out the effort he does. i would go as far as to personally guarantee that, if there are fish to be caught, he will find them!

Thanks Jake for a great trip under rough conditions. You know when you have whitecaps in a slough about 80 feet wide it is tough. At times I was fatigued due to trying to keep my balance while the boat rocked. I have been in calmer waters in the Gulf of Mexico 50 miles out - LOL! Jake is really equipped for just about anything for you guys wanting to test him out. He has a boat load of quality equipment and is really a hard working fisherman for fishermen! He has the new rods with the microguides and I have never used one before but I will say they are impressive on casting distance. One time with a big swimbait I almost dumped the reel with my cast!

Hi Jake, Just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for a great trip. We had a blast fishing with you, caught fish including a hog, and got to see some of the top of the line fish finders on the market. Thanks again for a great day and for the info you gave us for the next day. Next time we'll book with you for multiple days.
Thanks, Bill McCoy
