Guntersville Lake 14 Nov 2016 – Over the past month, Guntersville has improved and moved into a fall pattern. The frog/rat action is continuing on Guntersville mainly because of the nice weather, which is contributing to a good crankbait bite along the main channel for numbers but most of them are small fish in the 10 to 14 inch range.   With that said the best pattern lately has been early morning top water mainly Whooper Plopper 90’s and some buzzbait action along the back channel grass, Mussel Crawler Jigs from Tightline Jigs and Catch 5 Big N’ Swim Jigs worked along grass lines on the main channel.  Punching D-Bombs with a 1 ounce tungsten has produced some fish as well.  Best frog action for us was on Pro-Z, on the regular Hollow Body’s on scum mats…These patterns should hold until the  with the continued cooler nights headed at us this week. Water Temps are start out in the most mornings around 66 and climbing 68-69 degrees by late afternoon.  We are taking reservations for November through Late Spring already…we also have gift certificates for Christmas…If you want to catch fish on Guntersville…I have days and USCG Licensed guides available…now is the time to start making those plans for the spring time action.  As always, we supply all fishing gear including Duckett Rods, LEW’s Reels, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost you.  We offer a Military Discount and unmatched dedication to making your trip successful and enjoyable. “Let’s go fish’ in”

Guntersville Lake 18 Sept to 4 Oct 2016 –  Guntersville continued to be all over the place for the most part, one day you can catch them and the next you have to work just to get a limit.  The frog/rat action is continues to pick up slowly…  With that said the best pattern lately has been early morning top water mainly Whooper Plopper 90’s and some buzzbait action along the back channel grass, Mussel Crawler Jigs from Tightline Jigs and Catch 5 Big N’ Swim Jigs worked along grass lines on the main channel.  Punching D-Bombs with a 1 ounce tungsten has produced some fish as well.  Best frog action for us was on Pro-Z, on the regular Hollow Body’s on scum mats… I look for the punching and frog patterns to improve with the continued cooler nights headed at us this week. Water Temps are start out in the morning around 74 and climb to 78 to 80 degrees by late afternoon.  We are taking reservations for October through November for Frog, top water and flipping/punching grass lessons…If you want to catch fish on Guntersville…I have days and USCG Licensed guides available…now is the time to start making those plans for the spring time action.  As always, we supply all fishing gear including Duckett Rods, LEW’s Reels, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost you.  We offer a Military Discount and unmatched dedication to making your trip successful and enjoyable. “Let’s go fish’ in”

Guntersville Lake 16 Sep 2016 –  Past two weeks have been all over the place, for the most part it remains one day you can catch them and the next you have to work just to get a limit.  The frog/rat action is starting to pick up slowly…but is by far not “ON” by any means.  With that said the best pattern lately has been early morning top water mainly Catch 5 Big N’ Swim Jigs, pop-r’s and some buzzbait action along the back channel grass, Mussel Crawler Jigs from Tightline Jigs worked along grass lines on the main channel and Punching D-Bombs with a 1 ounce tungsten.  Best frog action for us was on Pro-Z, T-Fritz Popping Frogs and on the regular Hollow Body’s on scum mats… Capt Criss had some clients out for a short trip early week as well and caught a few goods fish as well.  I look for the punching and frog patterns to improve as soon as we get some cooler nights. Guntersville Lake 27 August 2016 –  Past two weeks have been all over the place, one day you can catch them and the next you have to work just to get a limit. Best frog action for us was on Pro-Z, T-Fritz Popping Frogs and on the regular Hollow Body’s in thicker Grass… I look for the punching and frog patterns to really ramp up over the next two weeks as conditions should improve for these tactics.  Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and using sunscreen.  Water Temps are 83 to 87 degrees.  The ledge bite is fading some, we found some active schools but there lots of shad and other bait for them to feed on it is making that bite a tough one,  it should remain good until fall, it’s mainly all about timing…they are not eating all day, but if you stick with it you can catch them. On a side note, for those who run Hydro Wave it help us late last week to run a delayed schooling at a low volume.   We are taking reservations for September through October for Frog, Ledge and flipping/punching grass lessons…If you want to catch fish on Guntersville…I have days and USCG Licensed guides available…now is the time to make your plans with a full time Professional USCG Licensed/Insured guides.  As always, we supply all fishing gear including Duckett Rods, LEW’s Reels, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost you.  We offer a Military Discount and unmatched dedication to making your trip successful and enjoyable. “Let’s go fish’ in”

Guntersville Lake 4-7 June 2016 – Guntersville continued to produce quality fish over the last 4 days, it still has its slow periods during the day but if you remain focused and slow down you can catch them.   Saturday started out with some “Roll Tide” catching by Coach McDonald…the remaining three days off with some great return clients from Florida and Kentucky.   We found our best action in 8-20 FOW on grass ledges and shell beds.    Best bite for the morning was Tightline Jigs “Catch 5” Big’N in a white Shad or Guntersville Special and on a ½ oz. Mussel Crawler Jig from Tightline Jigs in a Guntersville Special or Green Tequila, along with a Texas Rigged D-Bombs, worked on ledges and shell beds after the sun gets up around 7:30 or 8am.  Today we had a little top water action on Zara Spooks.  We also caught some on Missile Baits “Tomahawk” worms worked along the main channel and creek channels.  Water temps are 79 to 80 degrees. The ledge bite is here and should stay until fall, we are taking reservations for July through October for Frog, ledge and flipping/punching grass…The recent rain and current will greatly improve the ledge bite. The meeting went well and was very informative. I want to thank Capt Mike Carter and more importantly Sharon Carter for all the work they did putting this meeting together.   We now know the directions we need to head and the process to get there to get a few changes made.  Some of the topic’s included a reduction in the creel limit for Bass to Five fish per day, the lack of any law enforcement on the water and a supplemental stocking program for the lake to help improve low recruitment years to help void drastic swings in the population.  We all just need to make sure we follow and go through the right channels to make sure we accomplish our goals. We all want to thank Matt Catalano, Asst. Professor for Aquatic Sciences from Auburn University, and our District Biologist Keith Floyd, along with our State Representative Tommy Hanes, and our State Senator Steve Livingston for being there to help with getting this ball rolling in the right direction. We truly appreciate all of their knowledge and efforts in this matter. We also want to give a big thanks to Goose Pond Bait n Tackle for letting us use their facility to hold this meeting. A big thanks to Mike Bolton of AON Magazine and Scott Sheahen from WZDX FOX News for their help and coverage to spread the word of the efforts that are going forward to help our lake, anglers and local businesses. We can't forget to thank our local citizens and anglers for being there for support also.  I have days and USCG Licensed guides available…now is the time to make your plans with a full time Professional USCG Licensed/Insured guides.  As always, we supply all fishing gear including Duckett Rods, LEW’s Reels, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost you.  We offer a Military Discount and unmatched dedication to making your trip successful and enjoyable.  “Let’s go fish’ in”

Guntersville Lake 14 Mar 2016 – We had a fairly good day yesterday, despite the extremely windy conditions and major front moving through the area.  Guntersville is improving slowly, am I saying it is ON? Guntersville Lake 12 Mar 2016 – We had a fairly good week…with the extremely windy conditions some days we did better than others but we still caught them…the most reliable bite for my clients and myself remains a ½ oz. Mussel Crawler Jig from Tightline Jigs in a Guntersville Special or Green Tequila worked around stump fields close to creek channels in 3 to 8 FOW.   We also caught several fish on True Bass Swimbaits and Missile D-Bombs. Bass are on the move as the water warmed past the 55 degree mark and 64.4 in the back of some creeks. With the warmer weather the past couple days and a good forecast of really nice weather, it “SHOULD” turn into an all-out slug shortly on Guntersville…

Guntersville Lake 5 Mar 2016 – The past week Guntersville improved drastically. Bass are on the move as the water became stable and started eating.   Our fish are coming on an assortment of lures ranging from square bill crankbaits, Rattle Traps, True Bass Swim Baits, Tightline Jigs and Texas Rigged D-Bombs.  Water temps range from 50 degrees around the main channel to 59 degrees in the backs of some creeks as of Saturday evening.  I have days available and guides…now is the time to make your plans with a full time Professional USCG Licensed/Insured guides. Guntersville Lake 14 Dec 2015 – The past couple of weeks have been up and down with Guntersville showing some improvement for most anglers.  The highlight of the past three weeks was this past weekend as I had the extreme pleasure of fishing with 27 year veteran, Senior Master Chief Karl Hensel, USN (Retired).  Our fish are coming on an assortment of lures ranging from square bill crankbaits, True Bass Swim Baits, Tightline Jigs and Texas Rigged D-Bombs.  Water temps range from 54 to 58 degrees.  Once the TVA recovers from all the rain over the past three weeks anglers need to watch for the winter crankbait and swimbait patterns to kick in to high gear. I have days available over the next couple months and we are already getting reservations in for the spring…

Guntersville Lake 1 Nov 2015 – The past week on showed some improvement on Guntersville for most anglers however, it was just plain old tough.  While we are still catching fish it has turned into being at the right place at the right time.   Best advice remains “slow down and work an area completely!!”   Our fish are coming on an assortment of lures ranging from PRO-Z Baits-Frogs, square bill crankbaits, Super Spooks, True Bass Swim Baits and Tightline Jigs with D-Bombs.  Water temps range from 63 to 68 degrees.  With massive amount of grass being ripped out combined with cooler air temperatures, watch for the fall crankbait and swimbait patterns to kick in to high gear as fish should start to feed up for the winter ahead.   I have days available throughout the fall and winter with full time Professional USCG Licensed/Insured guides. As always, we supply all fishing gear including Duckett Rods, LEW’s Reels, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost you.  We offer a Military Discount and unmatched dedication to making your trip successful and enjoyable.  “Let’s go fish’ in”
